I’m so glad all these conditions weren’t invented yet; it would have cost us a bundle.
I’d probably have been diagnosed with about 10 things myself. I try to never leave links in my comments, because it sometimes seems too self serving. I’m going to forget about all that and leave one. No one wants to hear it...I also grew up knowing autism was a very debilitating disease, but now if your kid is a shit, he's autistic...what a crock. I know, there are kids who need severe help and there are a wide range of problems, but stop already!!! I enjoy your blog, I don't always agree with you but i enjoy that you put thought into what you have to say...bravo!Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16402695045893961104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7274757246538504796.post-54786529267616308582013-03-22T12:48:37.840-07:002013-03-22T12:48:37.840-07:00It's fairly hideous when somebody decides that...It's fairly hideous when somebody decides that your child doesn't fit their definition of "normal", and especially so when they have decided that medication is the "cure". When I was a kid in the 50's every child with a sore throat needed a tonsilectomy. In my kid's day every kid with an earache needed tubes inserted. Both are no longer in vogue for the masses, only the very few who actually need those procedures.

I once had a school counselor tell me my daughter was making good grades not because she was "naturally talented", but because she was just studying hard. Duh....OK. So what's the problem? Sheesh!

I've learned to listen to most "experts" with a high degree of skepticism.

Excellent post.

SLowandslowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08608734222483888884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7274757246538504796.post-31250707562445078112013-03-21T15:21:59.464-07:002013-03-21T15:21:59.464-07:00Daddy, you should have written "life" at...Daddy, you should have written "life" at the end instead of "live"!

Love, the she-brat :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
