In its most stubborn form. it begins when we realize there are fewer days ahead than behind. It's almost a climacteric --like puberty, or any endocrine uproar-- that thrusts us into a realization that must be addressed and lived with, reconciled to consciousness. It is not an anomaly or ampliative metaphor of falling from grace. It's just growing up. I hope to keep the rational perspective, practiced thru my life, in the throes of this disturbance and continue seeking understanding, peaceful coexistence, tolerance and love. I'm probably not explaining it right, but you sure did. Yes, I think clarity is another way to describe what it means to accept woundedness. Thanks for your reply. I agree and I don't. I see it and I don't. It is, whatever it is, is the part of us that binds and unifies, and pulls us beyond things like race and class. Or so I hope.
Nice bit o' writin'....
MikeShould Fish Morehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18400586203204886095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7274757246538504796.post-71172111212658030582015-11-05T15:18:27.028-08:002015-11-05T15:18:27.028-08:00I'm glad you did not banish these thoughts to ...I'm glad you did not banish these thoughts to the delete command.
Your contemplation is sensitive and insightful. I read it over a few times and think there is a marvelous humanity to it. I found myself on one reading substituting "longing" for "wound." There is some parallel I think.
In the last couple of years I have come to understand that I must embrace PTSD. It has not been upending or crushing, but experiences that were filed deep, for a variety of purposes, have emerged. I've come to understand they need to be acknowledged and processed. As a result of doing so I appreciate the depth of your contemplation.
In groups I have found that an honest expression of understanding or the account of an attempt to understand brings a marvelous clarity to all who participate. I think that clarity could be another way of knowing what you call the truth of our woundedness -a conscious free life. Thanks for diving so deeply into what it means to be human.
I find these Geezer posts always engaging and stimulating.Tom Cochrunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04046822056852446079noreply@blogger.com
